Overview

2025 is shaping up to be an exciting year for perennial groundcover research! RegenPGC is a research project, but we’re more than just that. Our mission is to share our findings with the agricultural community and all other interested parties. As we delve deeper into how to establish and maintain perennial groundcovers within existing corn and soybean production systems, we’re eager to share our progress with anyone interested in understanding how perennial groundcover increases cropping system complexity.
As we enter the fourth year of our five-year USDA-NIFA-funded research project, we’re gaining valuable insights into managing the interaction between the primary row crop and the perennial groundcover to ensure competitive yields while maintaining traditional crop production methods.

In 2025, we’re ready to take our research to the next level. We’re excited to share our findings with farmers, crop advisors, technical service providers, government agencies (NRCS/DNR), and other agricultural scientists who are eager to explore the possibilities and challenges of integrating perennial groundcovers into their row crop agriculture.
The publications listed on this page were created through a collaborative effort between our researchers and our Extension Objective. We hope you’ll share them with anyone who might find them helpful.
