Extension

Overview

We focus on extending the RegenPGC project’s reach by developing a robust platform to share science-based knowledge, existing and potential commercial opportunities, and policy recommendations to an expanded set of stakeholders.

Goals

Educating and supporting farmers and technical service providers to promote perennial ground cover (PGC) adoption in a low-risk and high-return climate.

Educating rural communities on relevant aspects of PGC biology and PGC’s potential role in enhancing food security and on broader environmental and societal sustainability topics.

To strengthen and ensure perennial ground cover adoption, our comprehensive extension education efforts specifically target five groups of stakeholders:

  • Extension educators
  • Farmers
  • Technical service providers and crop advisers
  • The scientific community
  • The general public

To achieve these goals we will:

HOST Hands-on Field Days

Develop and deliver in-field crop-specific hands-on field days explaining the PGC system at its stage of development throughout the project.

Provide Winter Workshops

Develop and deliver winter workshops and farmer meetings explaining the PGC system.

Create Online Education

Develop and make available online a series of educational modules explaining the PGC system.
